SpinRecipe

Privacy policy

Effective 25 September 2026

SpinRecipe keeps your recipes on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account. There is no SpinRecipe account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking across apps or websites.

What the app stores

For each recipe you save, SpinRecipe keeps the link you shared, the post's caption and picture, the name and tags it gives the dish, any ingredients and steps it finds, and anything you add yourself: a photo, notes, a rating, a meal time, whether you want to cook it and when you've cooked it. It also keeps your grocery list, your meal times and the days you've planned to cook each recipe.

This is stored on your iPhone. If iCloud is on, it is also stored in your private iCloud database so it appears on your other devices. Apple holds that data under your Apple Account; we cannot see or read it.

Once a week, and whenever you tap Back up now, SpinRecipe also saves a copy of your recipes, meal times and plan to its folder in your iCloud Drive, keeping the five most recent. It's a file in your own iCloud Drive; we can't see it, and you can delete it in the Files app.

When you share a post

To write up a recipe, SpinRecipe loads the post or page you shared, directly from the site it lives on, such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads or a recipe blog. That site receives an ordinary request from your iPhone, as it would if you opened the link.

Naming the dish, choosing its tags and reading out the ingredients happen on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence. Translating a title into English happens on your iPhone with Apple's Translation feature.

When Apple Intelligence isn't available

SpinRecipe still names, tags and reads recipes on your iPhone, from the caption and the page itself. Nothing is sent to us or to any other service.

Featured creators

A few times a day, SpinRecipe downloads the list of featured creators and their recipe photos from this website. The request is the same for everyone and carries nothing about you. A featured recipe you save is stored like any other card.

What the app never collects

  • Your name, email address, phone number or contacts
  • Your location
  • Advertising identifiers or usage analytics
  • Access to your photos, reminders or calendar

Deleting your data

Delete a recipe in the app and it is removed from your iPhone and your iCloud. Deleting the app removes what is stored on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy as well, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage, and delete SpinRecipe's data.

Children

SpinRecipe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
